Can you take me for a ride around downtown Paris?

Yes, we can. A high-performance road bike is not optimal for “city” riding or cruising around Paris. We know a great little shop in Paris, Gepetto & Velos, in the 5th arrondissement, where you can rent your “city bike” and we’ll show you around town once you picked it up. Can you ship my bike back home for me ?

Of course. Often, our clients are very busy and traveling to other parts of the world once they’ve been in Paris and need to make sure their “babies” make it home through  trusted hands. That’s where we come in. Not only can we ship your bike for you but we can store it for you too! More on storage here.

May I use my own bike for any of your Paris-area tours ?

You bet! We want to share our wonderful roads with as many people possible.

How far in advance do I need to book a rental bike ?

The sooner the better since we have a finite amount of bikes and the rental slots are going fast. You can call us the day you need the bike and we’ll gladly accommodate you if possible.

Do you have “pre-packaged” trips ?

Only in the sense that our, guided, Paris-area tours take similar routes on many occasions. Otherwise, every tour we design is 100% custom!

How far in advance should I book my Custom trip ?

To serve you best we prefer the lead-time to be at least 120 days before your trip. For booking details see the bottom of our Custom Tours section.

Where can I get a catalogue ?

Since everything is custom, it’s a bit tough to have a catalogue. Also, we are striving to exist as “paperless” as possible. The planet thanks you for your help and understanding.

What is included in the custom tour price ?

Most meals, (we’ll gently nudge you to discover some things on your own) All lodging and transportation, (not including airfare), guide services (including gratuities. We prefer to take the guesswork out of what can sometimes be a stressful issue),bike maintenance (including building, light tuning, and box-up; if you bring your own bike), on-bike nourishment, Since it’s custom, we strive to communicate as clearly as possible during your consultation and booking processes everything else that will be included in the price of your trip. Such as: Museums, wine tastings, entrance fees for events…

Will someone pick me up at the airport if I book a custom tour ?

For our custom itineraries…”heck yes!” For our Bike Concierge services you may see that pricing here.

Do you have bikes or do I need to bring my own ?

We have a great selection of bikes to rent that you’d be proud to call your own. So by all means; don’t put yourself through the inconvenience of lugging your bike case around the world and paying the ever-increasing airline charges. Or, you may bring your own and we’ll treat it like one of the family. After all: “The best bike is the one that’s ridden the most!”©

What is your liability policy ?

You will be asked to sign a release of liability waiver form which will be e-mailed to you as part of your trip information file or before you embark on any of our tours, and or, before you throw a leg over one of our rental bikes.
There are inherent risks to traveling. Since most of your itineraries will include a good amount of cycling, including long descents with possible high speeds, and riding near cars on narrow and or unmarked roads, we must expect that you have the capacity and habits of riding in such situations.  To see “Terms & Conditions” please click here and scroll down.

Do I need travel insurance ?

Baggage losses, injuries, and emergencies can happen; and thus we strongly advise it. We do not offer it.

How much does a custom itinerary cost ?

No two trips are identical, and thus no two tour prices are identical.
In order to access our exclusive design process we require a 75 € non-refundable initiation fee which will count toward your payment of the overall trip cost once you’ve booked with us. That’s once we’ve spent some time gathering information from you about: who, what, when, and where you are thinking you want to go!

We require a minimum down payment of 500 € per person.

All of which is refundable up to 120 days before your trip should you need to cancel.

A 500 € administration fee is charged for all cancelations. (We can’t afford to burn any bridges with hotels and restaurants if we’re trying to reserve multiple rooms in the middle of the Tour de France.)

Should you need to cancel :


91 days to 120 days before your trip, you pay the fee of 50% of the total trip cost.
61 days to 90 days before your trip, you pay the fee of 75% of the total trip cost.
There is no refund anytime within 60 days of the trips departure.
All cancelations must be submitted in writing or must be approved by us for you to cancel using e-mail.

As stated above: we strongly suggest trip cancelation insurance. These policies may cover you against illnesses, family emergency’s and or similar issues that may arise during our design process and we want you to be covered.

Paris Bike Company reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time. A full refund will be returned. This includes all deposits and or payments, release of liability and obligations to Paris Bike Company. For Terms & Conditions click here.

This takes more time; as we don’t just plug you into some existing trip.

Much like a professional bike fit: there should be no two alike.
