Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

All clients renting a bicycle with Paris Bike Company must abide by and agree to the following terms:

It is the sole responsibility of our clients to have their own travel insurance policy(s). These may cover personal medical care in case of an accident or emergency, cancellation payments due, or any possible third party liability issues that may arise from the use of our rental bikes, or by other clients. No coverage is available from or through Paris Bike Company to insure Clients from loss in case of damage, theft, or other liability incurred during the use of our rental bikes.

Paris Bike Company’s rental bikes are thoroughly checked over by an experienced mechanic prior to any client’s reception of the bike and are ready to ride. Each bike is then checked-over in front of each client.

Each rental bike is to be returned in the same condition as it was originally given to the client and will be the sole responsibility of each client to pay for any damages and or replacement because of theft (and pursuant legal fees) incurred during their rental of the bike. This does not include general cleaning and general maintenance as that is included in the rental price.

Clients will not be held responsible for loss caused by the theft or damage(s) of the rental bike(s) during a rental period in which a tour with Paris Bike Company is carried out and thus during which the bikes have been stored or used in observance to instructions (written or verbal) provided to the client(s) by Paris Bike Company.

When reserving online via our reservation engine each client is informed of these conditions and in agreement, and thus stating that: they know how to operate a bicycle in a manner appropriate to current road and weather conditions: they will wear a helmet while operating any of Paris Bike Company’s bikes (helmets are NOT included in any tour or rental unless reserved in advance): they know how to change the gears, stop, start, control the direction, engage and disengage their clipless pedal systems properly, and change a flat tire: they know, and understand, the rules of the road for the country in which the tour(s) are taking place or where the rental bike is being ridden: will carry personal identification with them while operating the rental bike or while on their tour(s).

Clients need to bring their own pedals since rental bikes are NOT supplied with pedals (unless reserved in advance). Clients may supply their own items such as saddles, computers (GPS units), and water bottles if they so desire. Paris Bike Company is not responsible for any loss(es) of or damage(s) to clients personally supplied equipment.

Paris Bike Company cannot retain physical control over the actual operation of any rented bicycle(s) while the client is on the bike. Thus, Paris Bike Company will assume no responsibility for, and cannot be held liable for, any personal injury, property damage, third party liability or other loss(es) or damage(s), accident(s), delay(s), inconvenience(s), or irregularity(s) which may be occasioned either by reason of: any illicit, negligent or accidental act(s) or omission(s) by the client(s) or their agent(s): any defect(s) in, or failure(s) of, any vehicle(s), equipment or instruments owned, operated or used by the client(s): any illicit or negligent act(s) or omission(s) on the part of any other party(s) not under the direct control of Paris Bike Company.

Clients hereby release Paris Bike Company, its agents, affiliates, and employees from and against all liability(s) that could possibly arise during the rental and or touring period(s). Clients also hereby acknowledge that they are aware of the inherent risks involved with cycling including but not limited to: automobile traffic: physical exertion: acts of nature: accidents: travel via any form of transportation: road conditions: adequacy of local and any other medical facilities: negligence (other than willful or fraudulent) on the part of Paris Bike Company, its agents, affiliates, or employees.

Clients agree to be responsible for their own welfare, and accept any and all risk associated with the activities they undertake. Clients agree that the terms herein are binding on them, their family members, heirs, successors, assigns, dependents or minors accompanying them, and their legal representatives.

Clients acknowledge and agree that Paris Bike Company has the right to refuse participation to any person judged (by Paris Bike Company, it’s agents, affiliates, or employees) unfit to perform any or all activities sold or carried out by or through Paris Bike Company, it’s agents, or affiliates, and or for not completing this document or other required document(s) asked to be completed by Paris Bike Company pursuant to any other release of liability(s). Any dispute arising out of these matters will be resolved in binding arbitration/adjudication under the laws of the United States of America and or the European Union or the client’s country of origin.
